The white rotten wood is a product of the sustainable production of cultivated mushrooms on hardwood by Hallenser Pilzkult®. Ideal for keeping and breeding exotic beetles from all over the world. By purchasing this environmentally sustainable product you support the work of people with disabilities.
White rotten wood is the standard substrate for giant beetles and stag beetles, though Flake Soil becomes more important.
White rotten wood can be mixed with leaf litter and this way adapted to the needs of each species. For stag beetles and giant beetles, it alone represents a good food source. First, you should inform yourself about the desired species. Unfortunately, I cannot make any specific recommendations because I only use Flake Soil in my rearing. This white rotten wood needs to be moistened before use. It was heavily dried for reasons of transportability and storability.
In contrast to the other white rotten wood, which I collect in the forest, this white rotten wood was made on the basis of harvested edible mushroom trunks. Mushroom production and shredding, as well as packaging of this wood was done by people with disabilities. By buying this product you support the sustainable production of this substrate.
