Easy to moderate beetle species to keep and breed, suitable for beginners with experience with rose beetles.

The ideal temperature is room temperature. Maximum 25°C.

The larvae need about 12-15 months to develop into the cocoon and then another 3 months in the cocoon. As soon as they turn yellow don't bother anymore, because then the cocoon construction begins.

Please ensure that the adult beetles have sufficient climbing opportunities, as the animals find it difficult to get up on their own.

Origin: Uganda

Ideal rearing substrate: Flake Soil or leaf litter (only with added protein, e.g. Gammarus)

The animals can grow up to 8 cm.
