This beetle species originates from the Amazon region—Brazil, Colombia, etc.
The old substrate must be placed at the bottom of the box and the larvae must be slowly acclimated to the new substrate.
Ideal temperature: Room temperature, max. 22°C. Humidity max. 70%
This species is night active. Make sure you have enough options to stay upwards, because getting up by themselves is difficult. Beetles may die after a couple of hours on their back!
Ideal breeding substrate: Flake Soil. Make sure that the minimum height is 25cm so the female can lay eggs. Additionally the box should have a minimum capacity of 25l for the flake soil + room to crawl and feed. Female need a big amount of Substrate to lay their eggs sufficiently.
