This species of rose chafer from Asia, which is suitable for beginners, has a development period of around one year. The larvae are best kept in deciduous forest humus. Finer material such as flake soil or egg-laying substrate can be added for pupation and egg-laying. This allows cocoons to be built more securely and eggs to be better enclosed by the substrate. Room temperature is ideal for the animals. However, the larvae can also cope with temperatures of up to 15°C. The development time is delayed accordingly. The adult beetles grow to a size of 20-25 mm. The larvae are not cannibalistic and can be kept in groups.
